Location of Vocal Detroit Jazz Workshop
Historic Music Hall is the home to the Detroit Vocal Jazz Workshop. We use four rooms within Music Hall for the workshop.
Aretha's Jazz Cafe
Aretha's is our home base. If you walk in through the front door and walk straight ahead, you'll arrive at Aretha's. Aretha's has a comfortable, cozy jazz club stage, grand piano, PA with cordless mics, and drum set. The room was made for intimate jazz performances. We will get to train you all week on this stage.
GREEN ROOM
The Main stage's green room is an expansive collection room with adjacent dressing rooms. It will be our secondary room for classes and performances. It is very close to Aretha's Jazz Cafe.
Billie Holiday Dressing Room
Adjacent to the Green Room is the dressing room where Billie Holiday took a famous photograph. We use the room as a private lesson room for you to work with a jazz vocal instructor and collaborative pianist.
SELMA LOUNGE
On the 1st floor of Music Hall is the beautiful Selma Lounge. It is also a location for private lessons.
Parking for Vocal Jazz Workshop
Parking for the Vocal Jazz Workshop is free and easy in their adjacent parking lot or in the inexpensive Gem Theater garage. Music Hall is located at 350 Madison in Downtown Detroit. The directions below take you to the Gem garage.

Parking at Music Hall is in their free, adjacent lot.
There is also much metered street parking and other lots surrounding Music Hall.
